Jackie Ewers
Born in Blenheim, I am a descendant of the early European settlers to the region. Most of my growing years were in Wellington, returning regularly to visit grandparents.
Upon leaving school, I moved back to Blenheim where I worked for several years until I met my husband. His employment meant a move to New Plymouth. A beautiful part of New Zealand where we have many happy memories. I worked for the local Mitre10 in the garden section. A time I really enjoyed and which gave me a real appreciation for colours, plants and people. I love spending time in my garden and am always torn between gardening and painting. After a few years, we moved to Nelson and started a family. We moved out to Richmond for our children’s schooling and have been there for 19 years. We have always enjoyed our pets, we currently have two dogs Maisey and Archie but we have also loved 2 previous dogs Jackson and Raisin, a cat called Bogart, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds and pet rats. We have also rescued a wild bird and baby hedgehogs. We’ve had a sneaky weka in our garden and were once visited by a runaway peacock.
